Chartered Insurance Institute names new claims faculty head

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has appointed Jeremy Trott as the new chair of its claims faculty board.

Trott succeeds out-going chair David Bonehill who has stepped down after three years in the role.

Trott has been head of operations, claims for Chartered Insurer Allianz UK since 2012 where he has led the operational delivery of all key aspects of the insurer’s claims strategy and sponsors globally the Claims Expert Network for Allianz SE. He was previously head of strategic innovation at Allianz UK where he set the strategy for innovative thinking across the Allianz UK business.

Keith Richards, managing director of engagement (CII), commented: "Jeremy’s appointment as Chair comes at an exciting time in the development and evolution of the role and direction of the claims faculty as part of the CII’s overall strategic review and I look forward to working with him for the benefit of the profession and the public.

"Change is a constant for those working in claims as new technologies, regulations, legislation, market conditions and customer expectations impact the way insurers and their service providers have traditionally handled claims and Jeremy’s experience, insight and leadership will help ensure the Claims Faculty board continues to play a key role in setting professional standards, supporting members lifelong learning and providing a voice for the claims profession on issues related to claims and public trust."

Trott said: "I am delighted to have been appointed Chair of the Claims Faculty at this crucial time in both the professional bodys’ and the claims professions development. With the large number of challenges facing the industry and claims in particular – both technically & non-technically, it is vital that we further develop and enhance standards and skills across claims to remain relevant to the changing world and to align ourselves to our two key goals of public trust and the training and development of our members."
