Clyde & Co strengthens London marine team with partner hire from Kennedys

Law firm Clyde & Co has appointed Andrew Yarwood as a partner in its London marine cargo group.

Yarwood joins from Kennedys where he specialises in marine insurance, advising cargo insurers including Lloyd's syndicates and the company market, in relation to disputes arising out of the carriage of goods by sea. He advises insurers on liability and coverage issues, including drafting policy wordings and acts for cargo insurers in defending claims for salvage and general average as well as pursuing recoveries against shipowners arising out of casualties at sea.

Andrew Nicholas, partner at Clyde & Co, said: "We are delighted to have Andrew on board as he is truly immersed in the marine insurance market in London while his international experience further strengthens our global offering. He is a good fit for Clyde & Co thanks to his international mindset and ability to collaborate across teams."

He added: "We expect further hires in the near future as we continue our strategy of remaining the preeminent firm for marine insurance."

Yarwood commented: "I am thrilled to be joining Clyde & Co. The firm has a strong marine heritage and a world-class reputation worldwide in delivering leading work in an industry that has seen radical changes in recent times. I look forward to contributing to the team's success and playing a part in the firm's growth."
