Consilium taps placing specialist for complex property risks

Re/insurance broker  Consilium, a part of the Aventum Group, has hired a senior broker to bolster its specialist property team.

Richard Ellis (pictured) has been appointed as associate partner placing specialist and complex property risks.

Ellis joins Consilium from Citynet Insurance brokers, where he was a senior broker in the property and casualty team. He has 38 years of experience in retail and wholesale property and liability, as well as the placing of terrorism, high-net-worth, and contingency risks.

He previously held senior broker roles at brokers including Tasker & Partners, Senior Wright, CBC UK and Jelf.

Consilium said Ellis brings with him a strong underwriter and broker following, operating in both the London and Company Markets and extensive expertise in complex and non-standard property placements.
