Covéa parts ways with top executive by ‘mutual agreement’

French mutual insurer  Covéa’s chief corporate officer and general secretary is leaving the group after nearly six years.

“By mutual agreement with the group,” Sylvestre Frezal (pictured) has tendered his resignation as Covéa’s chief corporate officer.

Frezal joined Covéa at the start of 2018 in the general finance department, and rose through the ranks to become chief of staff to Thierry Derez, CEO of Covéa in 2020, before assuming his current role in January this year.

Derez said: “I have a rare esteem for Sylvestre. Over the last few years, Sylvestre has made a huge contribution to the Group, to its strength and to its strategic transformations : we are deeply grateful to him.”

Frezal commented: “These years at Covéa have been among the most stimulating, intense and exciting ever. I am deeply grateful for having had the opportunity to be at Thierry’s side, with all the teams, to contribute to the growth of this magnificent group. The time has now come for me to turn to new challenges.”
