Coverdrone establishes EU presence in the Netherlands

Coverdrone, a provider of insurance policies to the commercial drone industry, has expanded its reach across Europe following approval from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).

The company has established Coverdrone EU B.V. in the Netherlands, enabling it to transact drone insurance policies across the European Union.

Coverdrone said its policies accommodate the new EASA drone rules that came into effect on January 1, 2021.

Its online portal is designed to help insurance brokers provide a more efficient customer experience to their clients by receiving immediate quotes.

"We have had a long-standing connection with the Netherlands since the inception of Coverdrone and it was a natural fit for us when choosing a home in the EU," the company said in a statement.
