DA Strategy hires underwriting expert from The Channel Syndicate
Delegated authority specialist, DA Strategy, has appointed James Littley as associate.
James Littley was most recently head of delegated underwriting at The Channel Syndicate. Prior to that, he was delegated underwriting manager at W R Berkley.
With over 16 years of experience in delegated authority, Littley’s remit at DA Strategy will involve providing support for clients to improve efficiency and speed using the new framework for third-party oversight introduced by Lloyd’s.
In addition to that, he will work closely with DA Strategy’s clients to both update and implement their risk-based approaches and help optimise future delegated authority arrangements.
Commenting on the appointment, Charles Rowley, director of DA Strategy, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to DA Strategy. The last nine months have been really exciting for us and this recent appointment is testimony to the business growth we’re experiencing.”
He added: “Delegated authority has never been so important to our market as carriers seek non-correlating risk opportunities through access to niche products, underwriting specialists and new distribution or geographies. It is also a vital component in the plans that have been set out by Lloyd’s in its Future at Lloyd’s Blueprint One.
“It is for these reasons it’s important that we bolster our team with the best talent to deliver the best delegated authority solutions to our clients,” said Rowley.
James Littley added: “I’m joining the team at DA Strategy at a really exciting time and it’s great to be part of a growing business which has ambitious plans for the future.
“In current market conditions, the best opportunities for real growth often come from quality niche delegated authority business and I’m looking forward to building out these prospects with DA Strategy’s growing client base.”
