Dale taps RSA to capitalise on new opportunities in specialty market

Lloyd’s syndicate  Dale Underwriting Partners has brought in a senior accident and health (A&H) underwriter from RSA Insurance Group as it looks to take advantage of new market opportunities in the sector.

Daniel Prendergast (pictured) joins Dale as senior underwriter for A&H, reporting to head of specialty insurance Martin Lawson.

Prendergast has 15 years’ experience in the accident and health markets, and he joins from RSA, where he was a senior A&H underwriter. He previously wrote professional and financial risks.

“We are delighted to welcome such an experienced underwriter as Dan to Dale at a period when our Accident and Health portfolio is growing due to strong market demand in the post-COVID environment,” said Lawson. “As travel begins to return to pre-COVID levels, employers need to look carefully at their duty of care to staff when they are travelling, which is creating challenges for them but also opportunities for specialty insurance businesses such as Dale.

“Dan’s appointment is part of a wider Dale strategy of cross-selling and offering a broader range of risk services across the specialty space at Lloyd’s.”

Prendergast said± “I am really excited to be joining Dale at such a period of growth in A&H space. There is a lot of evolving complexity around wordings for travel policies, and the team at Dale is well positioned to provide the kind of expert advice that our broker partners need to service their clients well.”
