Ed poaches Willis exec for professional risks team

Reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker Ed has appointed Laura Skaanild as client director, professional and executive risk from Willis Towers Watson.

In her new role, Skaanild will focus on managing and developing Ed’s client base in the financial and professional services sector in the UK, US and offshore financial centres. She will report to Paul Richards, managing director of professional and executive risk.

Skaanild was most recently at Willis Towers Watson, where she served as head of the GB FI major accounts team. She joined Willis in 2012 and held a number of senior roles at the company.

Richards commented: “Laura is a talented professional, whose exceptional skills and knowledge will further strengthen our ability to deliver the very best in products, service, and risk expertise to our financial and professional services industry client base.
