Everest's primary insurer mines Zurich for financial lines leader

Everest Insurance, the primary insurance carrier of Everest Re, mined the ranks of  Zurich Insurance for a new head of financial lines to fill a vacancy created when the to-date leader took on all of Australia and APAC.

Timothy Powell (Pictured) comes to Everest from Zurich Insurance Group where he most recently served as global head of financial lines & cyber. Prior to that, Powell held a variety of leadership roles at AXA XL, Allianz Australia and AIG.

Powell succeeds Christian Colombera who will assume the role of Managing Director of Australia & Head of the Pacific Region, pending regulatory approval.

Everest Insurance International co-lead Adam Clifford said: “As a key driver of the global economy, Financial Services is an incredibly important market, and Timothy’s appointment reinforces our investment and commitment to financial lines buyers and brokers in need of Everest’s partnership. Timothy brings a unique perspective to our team, having led and developed Financial Lines portfolios in key regions, and he will be instrumental in positioning Everest as a leader in this market.”
