Ex-Tysers CEO resurfaces at boutique investment bank

The former CEO of  Tysers Insurance Brokers has moved to boutique investment bank Insurance Advisory Partners (IAP), taking on the role of managing partner international.

Industry veteran Clive Buesnel (pictured) left Tysers at the end of August amid a restructuring of the business following the completion of its £500 million sale to AUB Group.

Buesnel joins IAP following a career spanning more than three decades in operational and strategic senior leadership roles in the UK and global insurance markets.

Prior to becoming CEO of Tysers, Buesnel was a senior partner, vice chairman and UK head of insurance at Deloitte. Before that, he was CEO of Jubilee Insurance (a Lloyd’s Managing Agency) and spent ten years at Xchanging, where he was a founding member and executive director of its insurance business. Buesnel has also held senior positions at Andersen Consulting and Mars, and has worked in the UK, North America, Latin America, France, Germany and Switzerland.

In his new role at IAP, Buesnel will be based in London and report to co-founders Tony Ursano and David Kimmel. He will work closely with fellow IAP Partner Bhaven Pathak to drive and execute Insurance Advisory Partners’ international strategy covering UK, EU and other key international territories.
