FairFax’s Allied World taps longtime AIG executive for US role

Allied World, a part of FairFax Financial Holdings, has hired a long-serving senior executive of American International Group (AIG) as its regional executive for the US Southwest region.

Bill Ortgiesen (pictured) is joining Allied World after over 13 years at AIG where she served in various roles, most recently as executive client director based in Los Angeles for the past seven years.

Ortgiesen's previous roles at AIG included vice president, business development, and business development manager for AIG Private Client Group. Prior to joining AIG, he worked at Progressive Insurance as a territory sales manager in California.

In his new role, Ortgiesen will continue to be based in Los Angeles.
