FBI cyber specialist joins Aon

Aon Risk Solutions, the global risk management business of Aon , has appointed James Trainor as senior vice president of its cyber solutions group.

In his new role, Trainor will help shape Aon’s overall cyber strategy on behalf of clients, working closely with colleagues across technology, system integration, risk transfer and advisory to ensure a holistic and integrated approach.

Prior to Aon, Trainor was the highest-ranking cyber expert who worked for the FBI as assistant director of the cyber division in Washington DC and played a significant role in devising strategies to combat randomware and additional emerging forms of cybercrime and national security.

Throughout his FBI career, he served in both overseas and domestic assignments focused on cyber, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, intelligence and criminal matters.
