Former Canopius/Brit and Lloyd’s leaders join Argenta as directors

Argenta Syndicate Management (ASML), a subsidiary of Argenta Holdings, has appointed new non-executive directors with a background at Lloyd’s, Canopius, Brit and AmTrust Europe in leadership roles.

Rosemary Beaver (pictured) and Nigel Meyer will join ASML as non-executive directors, subject to regulatory approvals.

Beaver has a strong track record in the global re/insurance industry. She has held various governance, regulatory and business development roles and currently serves as a non-executive director and chair of the risk committee at Newline Group. Her previous roles include senior adviser for the Financial Reporting Council, head of international regulatory affairs at Lloyd’s, and Master of the Worshipful Company of Insurers.

Meyer brings more than 25 years of insurance experience to the role, having held a number of senior positions, including group chief financial officer at Canopius and group chief operating officer at Brit Insurance. He currently serves as a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee at First Central Insurance Management and AmTrust Europe. A chartered accountant by profession, his experience combines an understanding of auditing and risk with expertise in P&C, specialty insurance, and managing the operations and finances of large organisations.

John Whiter, chair of the ASML Board, said: “Rosemary’s and Nigel’s substantial and highly-relevant experience will be a major asset to the Board going forward. I look forward to working with them and for the oversight and insight they will bring.”

Nick Moore, chief executive officer of Argenta Holdings, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Rosemary and Nigel to the team. Both have enjoyed long and successful careers in the insurance industry and bring extensive market insight to Argenta. I have no doubt that their collective expertise and knowledge of our industry will ensure Argenta continues to move at pace.”
