Fusion lifts former Aviva recruit to global chief underwriting post
Fusion Specialty, a M&A and financial lines insurance specialist focussed on small and mid-size (SME) businesses, has promoted a former Aviva recruit to the dual role of managing partner, M&A, Fusion Specialty UK, and global chief underwriting officer, M&A.
Samuel Shirley (pictured) has played a pivotal role in launching and establishing Fusion’s UK operation, joining as a senior partner in 2022 from Aviva, where he helped grow the insurer’s M&A business and transactional risk portfolio.
In his new position, Shirley will support the business’ growth ambitions, by strengthening its underwriting practices and technical expertise across Fusion’s global business, which offers differentiated solutions for cross-continental transactions in the small to mid-market segment.
