Gallagher snaps up commercial insurer to boost US growth

Global re/insurance broker  Arthur J Gallagher has acquired a California-based commercial insurer to expand its growth opportunities in the region.

Gallagher has acquired Benchmark Commercial Insurance Services, a retail insurance agency offering commercial and personal risk management and insurance solutions. Benchmark has offered its services to business owners in San Diego for the past 25 years.

Robert Cohen and his team will remain in their current location under the direction of Scott Firestone, head of Gallagher's Southwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.
