Guy Carpenter hires AIG North America general insurance COO

Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, a part of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has hired AIG's George Williams to oversee its global client service organisation with a strategic focus on digital transformation and client engagement.

Williams has been appointed as managing director, global head of client support services.

He has over 20 years of experience in operations, product management and client service in the insurance and banking industries. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer of North America General Insurance, AIG, where he led end-to-end customer process oversight for the property and casualty business in the region. He also served in several global and regional roles, including general manager for the insurer’s business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Prior to AIG, Williams held a number of posts in the banking sector.

John Ehinger, global head of operations, said: “I am thrilled George is joining our global operations leadership team. He is a high-performing executive with a global mindset, whose talents will enable us to further enhance the high level of service that we provide to our clients, colleagues and markets.”
