HDI Global hires Chubb veteran as new head of underwriting in Ireland

Industrial insurer  HDI Global SE UK & Ireland has hired a new head of underwriting in Ireland from property/casualty carrier Chubb.

Niall Carberry will now lead HDI’s business in Ireland. He will report to Stephanie Ogden, director of underwriting & distribution.

Carberry joins HDI from Chubb where he has spent the majority of his career to date. In his most recent role, he held overall responsibility for the casualty portfolio in Ireland.

Ogden said: “I’m delighted to welcome Niall to HDI. Niall’s appointment is hugely important as we continue our investment into the Irish market to become a player of real influence. He brings an extensive level of experience and with it a great approach. I look forward to building on the successes of 2021 with Niall and his team.”

Of his new role at HDI, Carberry commented: “I am delighted to take up this role with HDI Global in Ireland. It is a fantastic opportunity to grow the business here providing insurance solutions that matter to both clients and brokers alike.
