HDI Global reveals leadership shift to boost expansion in Asia

Industrial lines insurer  HDI Global has made key leadership changes in certain Asian operations as it looks to expand business in this important region.

Graham Silton (pictured), managing director of HDI Global SE Singapore, has been appointed to the additional role of principal officer for the insurer’s Malaysian operation based in Labuan.

Silton takes over the position from Danh Duong, who oversaw the establishment of the Malaysian operation in 2016 whilst being regional manager.

Following the appointment, Duong will focus on his new role as general manager for Vietnamese operations.

HDI Global SE’s Malaysian business primarily focuses on large corporate clients across the spectrum of property, energy, casualty, engineering and marine.

Silton commented: “I am very excited to take on this new role and the opportunity to help drive forward our continued growth in Malaysia. I have been working closely with Siva Tharmapalan, our head of marketing based in Kuala Lumpur for the last 12 months, during this time we have increased our visibility and commitment to this very important market.

“I would also like to thank Danh for all his hard work over the last five years who has laid an excellent platform from which we will grow and increase our relevance to our brokers and clients operating in Malaysia.”

Duong added: “I am delighted to be handing over the reins to Graham as we look to continue to expand our business in Malaysia and build on the strong foundations built by the team.”
