HDI Global Specialty bolsters London team with senior Swiss Re, AmTrust hires

HDI Global Specialty SE, a joint venture of Hannover Re and HDI Global SE, has strengthened its London contingency team with two new senior underwriting hires.

Martin Holness joins as head of contingency, and Sheena Williams as senior underwriter, contingency.

Holness comes from AmTrust where he was head of contingency for five years. He has 30 years’ market experience, having previously held a number of broking and underwriting roles, including positions at Tysers and Munich Re. He will report into Rafael Rebitzky, director of underwriting, specialty lines.

Williams moves to HDI Global Specialty SE from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. She will report into Holness. Her career also includes both underwriting and broking roles, including time at Sirius as well as other Lloyd’s Syndicates.

HDI Global Specialty SE UK managing director Richard Taylor said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Martin and Sheena to HDI Global Specialty SE. Both come with excellent reputations within the market and are valuable additions to the team. We have been working hard to strengthen our Contingency business proposition and part of this work has been to add to the talent we have in the team.”
