HDI strengthens middle market offering in Mexico

European insurer  HDI Group has strengthened its middle market offering in Mexico.

35% of Mexican GDP is generated in the middle market segment, according to HDI, which is extending its property and fire insurance services for businesses within the sector, responding to the specific needs of the Mexican economy.

HDI will now handle Fire All Risks business with HDI Global leading on risks with a Total Insurable Value (TIV) above $50M million, while HDI Seguros Mexico will take the lead on those below this limit.

Omar Mendoza (pictured), CEO HDI Global México, said: “As the traditional industry partner we took the decision in Mexico to underwrite property and fire risks of businesses with a TIV above $50M, while HDI Seguros México will focus on business below such TIV. The project is generating great expectations within the Mexican insurance market as we now offer HDI’s services to the entire middle market segment.”

Ignacio Gonzalez, CEO HDI Seguros México, added: “Our clients profit from fast decision-making processes as well as the cross-disciplinary expertise in our group. Now the entire middle market will benefit from HDI’s holistic coverage and a network of more than 8,000 agents and brokers in Mexico. This allows us to offer tailor-made products and risk consulting to really enable our economy.”
