Hiscox hires senior property underwriter from Markel

Specialist global insurer Hiscox has appointed Marlon Williams as senior underwriter within the international reinsurance team of Hiscox Re & ILS.

Williams joins from Markel where he was senior vice president and international property cat underwriter. He joined Markel in 2013 as a cat analyst, before which he was at Alterra Capital Holdings in Bermuda, also as a cat analyst. He has also worked at Max Re and the ALEA Group.

Daniel Vestergren, chair of international for Hiscox Re & ILS, said: “We are excited to welcome Marlon to the team. His talent and international experience will enhance the already strong team we have at Hiscox.”
