Specialist global insurer  Hiscox has hired The Hartford’s financial line leader to lead its directors and officers (D&O) book in the London Market.

Pearsall has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance market including underwriting roles for AIG and, most recently The Hartford where he was head of financial lines within its London Market division. He has significant experience of managing a substantial portfolio including D&O, financial institutions, professional indemnity & reps & warranties.

Colin Buchanan, Hiscox London Market’s casualty divisional director, said: “Steven’s appointment will be a huge asset to us as we look to support our clients and brokers, and continue to build our D&O market share. With deep financial lines experience, Steven has a great track record of success in building profitable D&O books and I’m looking forward to working with him as we grow our D&O capabilities.”

Pearsall commented: “Hiscox is such a quality brand in the insurance market and it’s a privilege to join the company at a time when it is actively looking to invest in further developing its D&O presence.
