Hive Underwriters taps Inigo for aviation war underwriting talent
Hive Underwriters, a Lloyd’s coverholder and MGA, has mined Inigo for what it considers a well-placed aviation underwriter to bolster its position in the aviation war classes.
David Langran, currently head of aviation war at Inigo, will join HIVE as underwriter after filling out his contractual term at Inigo. Prior to joining Inigo in 2022, he put in eight years as an aviation war underwriter at Atrium.
Langran will be based in London and report to HIVE’s chief underwriting officer, Bruce Carman.
Carman said: “The appointment of David is great news for HIVE. He is a well-respected, leading underwriter who brings with him excellent broker and client relationships further enhancing HIVE’s strong position in the war classes. HIVE continues to attract quality individuals like David, who combined with the backing of some of the market’s strongest capacity makes for a very compelling model.”
Langran commented: “I am delighted to be joining HIVE at this exciting time in the market. I am greatly looking forward to adding to the fantastic offering and reputation in Aviation War the team has built over the last few years and utilising the market-leading data and analytics tools they have developed to do so.”
