Howden Broking Group appoints new CEO

Howden, the retail broking arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, has appointed José Manuel González as the new CEO of Howden Broking Group.

González will assume the new role from October 2018 and become the deputy CEO with immediate effect to facilitate the leadership transition.

González is a member of the Hyperion Group Executive Committee and will continue to report to Hyperion Insurance Group CEO David Howden. González will retain his role as CEO of Howden Iberoamerica which has 700 employees in eight countries.

“Following the investment by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in our business, we have entered a new chapter of growth. As the Group continues to evolve, it is time for me to focus more on our Group strategy and ambitious growth plans," said CEO Howden.

Howden added: "José Manuel joined the Group 11 years ago and has an impressive track record having established our Howden Iberia business, which under his leadership, is now the fourth largest broker in Spain, and also as CEO of Howden Iberoamerica, he has led one of the fastest growing regions in Howden.

“José Manuel has a real passion for our business and understands that it is the talent and the culture in the group that sets us apart and that our employee-ownership model ensures our focus is on delivering the best solutions for our clients as it is personal for us.”
