Hudson taps senior Berkley hire to lead entire general liability

US specialty property/casualty insurer  Hudson Insurance Group has tapped a former Berkley hire to oversee the management of its entire general liability portfolio, including binding authority, wholesale casualty, which is offered on a primary and excess basis, and related programmes.

John Larkins has been appointed as senior vice president and head of general liability.

Larkins joined Hudson in 2022 with more than two decades of experience in underwriting and claims across the insurance industry. He most recently served as vice president and chief underwriting officer of Berkley Aspire, and held various positions of increasing responsibility at Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters, Max Specialty/Alterra and James River Group.

“In just a few months, John has demonstrated his strong leadership and underwriting expertise, both of which have proven to be of great value to us, as well as our valued clients and distribution partners,” said Christopher Gallagher, president & chief executive officer of Hudson.
