IGI’s new CEO mulls aggressive growth, but ‘no transformation’
In an exclusive interview with Intelligent Insurer shortly after ascending to his new role as the chief of International General Insurance (IGI), Waleed Jabsheh, who is taking over from founding CEO Wasef Jabsheh, offered an insightful glimpse into his leadership blueprint and the opportunities he is keeping on his radar.
Jabsheh considers his two-decade-long journey at IGI as “nothing short of a dream”, vividly reminiscing about his humble beginnings in a modest office setup in the spring of 2002. As the company grew, so did its aspirations for more. But, he says, it remained steadfast in its foundational ethos steeped in cultural richness and rooted in value-driven principles.
“I feel privileged and lucky to have been able to go through such a journey in my career from an early start. We built the company on morals and values and on a very clear vision and approach to the business. And we have not wavered from that approach in the last 21 years,” says Jabsheh.
“We post some of the best results in the market. It is a testament to the approach we have and the appetite and caution that we exercise on a day-to-day basis.”
