IIS launches stock index monitor

The International Insurance Society has launched a service designed to monitor the performance of insurance stocks globally.

The IIS 100 global stock index monitor, which will be fully accessible to IIS members on a quarterly basis, provides an in-depth tracking of global insurance stock performance.

The IIS claims it is the world’s most comprehensive measure of the stock performance of the largest life, non-life and composite insurers and brokers.

The database is segmented by both geographic region and industry sector, over relevant time intervals, in comparison with the overall performance of global equity securities.

Greig Woodring, IIS chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Reinsurance Group of America, said: “With members in nearly 100 countries, the IIS has a unique outlook on the global insurance industry. This valuable perspective includes insights into the performance of leading insurers’ stock, which will now be presented by the IIS on a quarterly basis. It will be an invaluable tool for insurance CEOs worldwide.”

Michael Morrissey, IIS president and CEO, said: “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the IIS Seminar and we are very proud of this half century of service to the industry. We continue to strive to enhance our unique services to provide members with the necessary tools to build their business.”
