Inshur, Google Cloud AI tie-up aims to ‘transform’ on-demand insurance

Commercial auto insurtech Inshur,  which previously secured backing from Munich Re Ventures, is said to be exploring Google Cloud’s generative AI technology to revolutionise rideshare and on-demand insurance.

Inshur is working with Google Cloud partner SADA leveraging AI to automate key processes in order to create better end-user experience for its clients with robust services and improving ease of use throughout the insurance claims process.

The on-demand insurance provider made a strategic acquisition of American Business Insurance Services in April, and recently raised $26 million in its fundraising round to accelerate its growth plans on the back of rapid expansion in the US. Inshur projects a 200% increase in its growth by next year.

The insurtech said Google Cloud’s ecosystem, including its generative AI technology, is enabling Inshur to speed up and deliver models more quickly, as well as automate processes to eliminate redundant tasks, allowing it to focus on tasks that add more value to the business.

“As Inshur continues on its upward trajectory, driving increasingly rapid global growth and expansion, we need to work with businesses that can help us scale quickly and effectively while continuing to provide the best service to our customers. As a market leader that is pioneering approaches to cloud technology and AI, Google Cloud is a great fit to help us stay ahead of the curve and keep delivering,” said Chris Gray, chief technology officer at Inshur.

He added: “SADA’s partnership with Google Cloud is crucial to the success of this engagement – the SADA team’s deep understanding of Google Cloud roadmap and technology, combined with its ability to slot seamlessly into ours where needed, means that we can work faster and more efficiently without adding significant headcount."

Nigel Walsh, managing director of insurance at Google Cloud, said: “Generative AI technology is rapidly changing how we interact and synthesize data. We are excited to see Inshur at the forefront of the industry, exploring Google Cloud’s generative AI to revolutionize rideshare and on-demand insurance.”

Miles Ward, chief technology officer at SADA, added: “By working with the Inshur team, our strategy is to provide them with cutting-edge cloud expertise that helps them evolve and develop their business at the pace they need. We’re looking forward to continuing our work with Inshur, helping their expansion into North America while driving innovation within the Google Cloud platform simultaneously.”
