Insurers face minimum $1bn US winter weather payout

Five separate periods of bad winter conditions in parts of the US will likely cost the industry more than $1 billion, according to Impact Forecasting, Aon Benfield’s catastrophe model development team, which has launched the latest edition of its monthly Global Catastrophe Recap report.
