Broker Consilium snags Ed Broking director for key expansion role

The Aventum Group’s international re/insurance broking arm  Consilium, has lured away a director from Ardonagh-owned Ed Broking to take up a senior leadership position.

The broker revealed that James Baird (pictured), who held the post of director of Ed Broking’s Strategic Risk Group, is joining  Consilium to work alongside Aventum’s leadership team to manage the broker’s global strategic direction and accelerating growth.

David Bearman, Aventum CEO, said: “I’m very excited to welcome James to the Aventum family. With his leadership skills and particular expertise in the financial lines broking market, he will play a key strategic role in growing our global broking business with retail broking partners and direct policyholder clients. Supported by the board, James will be responsible for bringing  Consilium to new territories and product lines and building upon the existing  Consilium brand and client base.”

Bearman added: “We are committed to growing employee ownership at Aventum – letting talent take the lead and owning a meaningful stake in its success, and this is one of the reasons that James, and other first-class talent in the market right now are joining us.”
