JLT boosts legal practice with new hire from Willis

Re/insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has appointed Mike Mortlock as a partner within the professional indemnity team to strengthen its newly-established legal practices group.

Mortlock joins JLT from Willis Towers Watson where he was an executive director. Prior to this, he worked as a director within the professions division for Alexander Forbes (now Lockton) and Prime Professions.

JLT's new legal practices group specialises in meeting the insurance requirements of law firms.

Martin Ellis, JLT’s head of UK professions and legal practices group, said: "Mike is hugely respected within the insurance market and rightly acknowledged as one of the leading professional indemnity brokers for the legal services industry.

"His appointment will help to strengthen and grow our already successful team, and demonstrates our continuing commitment to the professional services sector in the UK."
