JLT poaches senior AIG executive as global aviation head

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) has hired AIG's former aerospace and marine leader Joe Trotti to become the broker’s global practice head of aviation, and join its global specialty leadership team.

Trotti joins JLT from AIG Europe, where he has held various senior management positions over many years, most recently as head of property & specialty risk and head of UK wholesale and previously president global aerospace & marine at AIG.

Trotti will report to Lucy Clarke, JLT’s newly-appointed global specialty CEO.

The company announced Jan. 10 that it is bringing together all of its insurance broking activities under the JLT Specialty banner.

Commenting on the appointment, Dominic Burke, CEO of JLT Group, said: "I’m delighted that Joe is joining JLT. The fact that someone of Joe’s market standing and capabilities is joining us underlines our determination to ensure that our clients are getting the very best of JLT wherever they are located.

"This is the first of what will be a series of similar appointments of global Specialty practice heads. These will strengthen the global management of our principal industry specialties and create a single point of focus for each to facilitate coordinated working between geographic regions and between specialty practices."
