Liberty Specialty taps talent from within for key European role
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed a new head of affinity and programme business Europe.
Simon Baily (pictured) will replace former Head of Affinity and Programme Business Europe, Kerry McKay, who has left LSM to pursue a new career opportunity.
Baily will report to Kadidja Sinz, president, Europe & Middle East at Liberty Specialty Markets. He will be based in London.
Baily joined LSM in February 2021 as affinity and programme business Europe distribution manager. Since joining, he has been instrumental in building up LSM’s delegated authority capability in the region. Prior to that, Baily was an independent consultant, advising insurtech, broking and underwriting businesses. Previously, he held various operational leadership and management roles focused on delegated business at Ed Broking and Miller Insurance.
Sinz commented: “We thank Kerry for his tremendous contribution over his seven years with Liberty and wish him well. Having worked closely with Kerry since joining our team, Simon is ideally placed to lead our Affinity and Programme Business as we build this business across Europe. He is highly experienced in delegated authority business, having worked with and advised Coverholders and MGAs across multiple lines of business and territories, developing holistic, sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships.”
