Lloyd’s-backed cyber start-up Trium launches international offering
Trium Cyber, a Lloyd’s of London cyber specialist that entered the market at the start of this year with fresh capital backing from Pelican Ventures and third-party capital providers, has opened a London office to write coverage for clients based outside of the US.
The company is led by Josh Ladeau as chief executive officer. Ladeau was formerly global head of cyber for Aspen.
Trium has also hired Amie Watson from Aspen to launch its international offering. Watson was most recently senior underwriter at Aspen Insurance Group. Prior to that, she worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance, AX Catlin, Aviva, Willis and Lockton in various underwriting roles.
Trium Cyber writes on behalf of Lloyd’s Syndicate 1322. Trium London will be writing excess layer direct and facultative reinsurance cyber coverage for the European, Australian, Canadian, UK, Middle Eastern and Latin American markets and targeting a primary offering to be launched early next year.
Watson said: “I’m excited for the opportunity to join a unique organisation like Trium, with a singular focus on cyber and the ability to bring new products and its novel approach to perhaps the most compelling line of business in insurance today.”
Ladeau commented: “Our advanced technical underwriting, outstanding claims management and Lloyd’s A+ rated security have resulted in great demand for our services internationally. The opportunity to bring somebody of Amie’s caliber aboard to help execute the launch made the expansion an obvious decision.”
