Lockton hires Hartnett and Spears as new producers in US

Insurance broker Lockton has hired Chris Hartnett in its Nashville office, and James Spears in St. Louis Series, as new producers.

Hartnett joins Lockton from Harden in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was responsible for leadership, strategy and sales management, and worked with clients in employee benefits. He was formerly with Willis.

Spears returns to Lockton from Aon where he worked with clients in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, higher education, transportation and logistics, and professional services industries. He worked to expand the property and casualty and health benefits book of business.

Spears started in Lockton's St. Louis office in 2008. After almost six years with Lockton, he joined Holmes Murphy and Associates, and later Aon, as a producer.

"Chris has a well-deserved reputation as a thought leader on human capital issues for complex organisations," said Peter Caine, chief operating officer of Lockton's Nashville operations.

"It is exciting to have James join the Lockton team again," Caine added. "We look forward to James growing the transportation and logistics, construction, real estate, manufacturing, professional services, and higher education markets in the Midwest for the St. Louis operations."

Kevin McDaniel, president of Lockton's Nashville operations, commented: "The Nashville market and Lockton's clients will benefit from Chris's leadership and insight on employee benefits. We look to Chris to help Lockton grow in the Nashville market quickly."

"James has a well-deserved reputation as a thought leader around risk management issues related to the transportation and logistics industry," McDaniel said.
