Lockton Re hires facultative leader in London

Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of broker Lockton, has hired Ben Day to lead its facultative practice in London.

Day will join Lockton from CJ Coleman where he was most recently head of CJC Re, having joined as an executive director in 2018. He has over 20 years of London market experience in a number of senior roles, he was an executive director at Willis Towers Watson, a divisional director at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co and an SVP at Guy Carpenter. Day started his career at Cooper Gay in 1999, spending some of his time based in the British Virgin Islands.

In his new role, Day will work closely with Jeff Fleming, Nathan Taylor and the fac broking team in North America as well as with London and internationally based colleagues and clients as part of Lockton Re’s global fac offering.

Fleming, head of fac strategy, Lockton Re, said: “We are building many of our capabilities at Lockton Re in a more integrated and seamless way, Fac is very much part of this strategy. We are focused on creating broad and expert capability aligned to the needs of our clients, consistent with Lockton Re’s differentiated approach.”

Mark Higgins, head of London North America, Lockton Re, added: “Our Fac capability works across our business rather than in silos. Ben’s great expertise, experience and collaborative ethos is key as we strive to provide creative, proactive and innovative solutions.”

Keith Harrison, international CEO of Lockton Re, commented: “Ben is a great addition to our growing team at Lockton Re and will amplify and strengthen our North American and International Fac capability in London. His collaborative nature and transactional skills are a fantastic addition to our culture and continued growth. We look forward to welcoming and working with Ben later this year.”
