Lockton Re hires Guy Carpenter talent for marine & energy division

Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of broker Lockton, has hired Guy Carpenter's Andy Massingham as a senior broker in its London-based marine and energy division.

Massingham was most recently a managing director at Guy Carpenter, and prior to that, was a partner at JLT Re, where he started his career.

Jerry Ridge, head of marine & energy at Lockton Re, said: “Recent events have only served to accelerate our understanding of how the role of a reinsurance broker is changing, combining the classic attributes around relationship building and technical expertise but also reflecting a new perspective through a technology lens and the ability to have both an analytical and more strategic approach.

"Andy is an exciting hire for us at Lockton Re as he very much fits this mold. We are pushing the reinsurance industry forward with an unmatched commitment to client service, creative thinking and groundbreaking technology.”

Martin Stephenson, chairman of marine & energy division at Lockton Re, added: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome great talent to the team, we are finding our energy and enthusiasm is resonating with new clients and colleagues alike. We are helping our growing client base to reap the benefits of a new reinsurance perspective and Andy will play a valuable role in that strategy. We look forward to welcoming Andy to the London office in March next year.”
