Markel Acquires Caunce O’Hara Freelancer and Contractor Insurance Business

Markel UK, the division of Markel International that provides insurance, tax and legal services for SMEs, has acquired Caunce O’Hara & Company Ltd, following regulatory approval from the FCA.

Markel UK announced its plans to acquire the online business from the commercial insurance brokers on September 12, 2019. As part of the deal, Caunce O’Hara & Company Ltd will keep its brand and its team of 12 will remain in its existing office in Manchester.

Commenting on the closure of the deal, Neil Galjaard, divisional managing director of Markel UK, said: ”We’re delighted to have got this acquisition over the line in such good time, so that we can start working with Chris Caunce and the team on integrating and further growing what is an excellent business.”
