Markel signs underwriting agreement for upstream oil & gas risks with JH Blades

Specialist insurer Markel International has entered into a master underwriting agreement with US upstream oil and gas energy managing general agent (MGA) JH Blades.

The facility will use specialist wordings written specifically for the industry.

“We’ve known and worked with the Blades team for over 30 years and are really pleased that we’ll be extending our relationship with them through this agreement,” said Paul Jenks, managing director of Markel International’s marine, energy and property division.

Richard Martin, president of JH Blades added: “The new partnership fulfils a strategic objective to support our growth and expansion plans in the future. We are delighted to be broadening our relationship with the Markel team.”

Houston-based JH Blades operates as a broker, MGA and London cover holder.
