McGill plucks Gallagher talent for complex property and casualty
Specialist re/insurance broker McGill and Partners has recruited two senior executives from Gallagher for its complex property and casualty to build out a new subspecialty focusing on legal liabilities.
Anna Beadsmoore (pictured bottom) has been appointed as partner in its property and casualty team, with Jessica Cook (pictured up) as an associate.
Beadsmoore was most recently executive director - head of legal indemnities at Gallagher, where she built its legal indemnity team from ground up. Her wider experience includes M&A, Real Estate and Title insurance. Prior to Gallagher, Beadsmoore worked at Marsh as a development executive focussed on new business development.
Cook has over six years’ experience working within the legal indemnities market. She also joins McGill from Gallagher, where she served as an account executive. Prior to that, Cook worked at Lockton as an account handler.
McGill said both executives have been at the forefront of the legal indemnity market for a number of years, enabling clients to progress on transactions that might otherwise have been deemed too financially risky, and working on innovative policy wordings to provide unique coverage.
Legal indemnity insurance provides financial coverage for legal defects in property transactions, developments and refinancing such as mitigation against the breach of restrictive covenants, rights of light infringements, protecting access and easements and ensuring good title of the property / shares. McGill’s single P&L structure will allow Beadsmoore and Cook to work with the M&A, construction and energy teams to understand their client’s needs and provide a full service offering.
