MGA Aqueous secures capacity to launch new product for ‘underserviced’ market

Specialist managing general agent (MGA) and Lloyd’s coverholder  Aqueous Underwriting has secured A+ rated capacity to launch solicitors excess layers.

The product will have limits of up to £5 million and has the ability to write layers attaching from £2 million for partnerships and £3 million for limited liability partnerships.

Solicitors excess layers will be available for two or more UK partner firms who have fee income up to £5 million. The product also includes total conveyancing of up to 50% with a maximum of 25% from commercial conveyancing.

William Hall, Stuart Barker and Terry Shaw, will be part of the Solicitors underwriting team, who have extensive experience in professional indemnity underwriting.

Mark Ford (pictured), chief underwriting officer, said: “The Aqueous team have experience in writing Solicitors PI, so our brokers asked us to deliver the Aqueous proposition to excess layers in this niche area. We are excited to launch this new product using A+ rated security.”
