Miller looks to grow in UK professional indemnity market with two hires

Re/insurance broker Miller has hired professional indemnity specialists Paddy Synnott and Joe Newbury as part of its expansion strategy into the UK professions market.

Synnott began his insurance career as a professional indemnity underwriter in 2014, before switching to broking in 2016. He has worked primarily in UK PI during his time in insurance, also gaining exposure to global accounts in the legal, construction and insurance professionals sectors.

Newbury’s insurance career began in 2015, and has seen him work extensively with construction PI clients in London and the South East.

Miller’s UK professions team specialises in arranging a broad spectrum of cover to suit the specific requirements of insureds, including identifying cost-effective professional indemnity insurance for a range of sectors including solicitors, insurance firms and surveyors.

It said Synnott and Newbury’s understanding of the UK professions market and professional indemnity business will strengthen the team to deliver innovative risk transfer solutions.

Ed Pickard, head of UK professions, commented: “We are delighted that Paddy and Joe have joined Miller. Their strong knowledge of the UK Professional Indemnity market will strengthen our team’s capabilities and our ability to offer clients tailored solutions. In the current hard market, clients need to be able to rely on their brokers to support them – these new hires respond to that and confirm Miller’s ongoing commitment to excellent client service.”
