MS Amlin Underwriting appoints new head of specialty reinsurance

Lloyd’s global re/insurer  MS Amlin Underwriting (MS AUL) has appointed a head of specialty reinsurance to oversee its agricultural, terror and nuclear classes of business.

Rachael Wallington (pictured), currently lead class underwriter for agriculture reinsurance, has been promoted to a new senior role effective November 1. She will report to Matthew Wilken, head of reinsurance.

Wallington joined MS Amlin in February 2015 and was integral in building the business’s agriculture portfolio. Additionally, she supported a diverse range of classes including mortgage and terrorism.

Wallington has nearly two decades of experience, having worked across the major international reinsurance hubs, including Bermuda, Singapore and London, and is a fully qualified actuary.

Wilken said: “I am delighted to announce Rachael’s new senior role in the organisation. Her promotion is demonstrative of the deep bench of talent and expertise present within MS AUL. Since joining MS AUL, she has been an integral member of the reinsurance team. Her strong analytical capabilities, global multi-class experience and market knowledge provide the ideal foundations to build out and manage the Specialty focused reinsurance team.“
