MS Reinsurance nabs QBE Re talent as lead treaty underwriter

MS Reinsurance ( MS Amlin AG), a global reinsurer domiciled in Switzerland with operations in Bermuda, Miami and New York, and a part of the MS&AD insurance group, has hired a lead underwriter for treaty casualty reinsurance business from QBE Re.

Hart Moede will take the role of lead underwriter at MS Reinsurance, starting August 1.

Moede joins MS Reinsurance from QBE Re, where he currently serves as vice president, treaty underwriter.

Before his tenure at QBE Re, he held the position of associate director at the renowned global brokerage firm, Aon, based in New York. Prior to that, Moede served as an ocean marine underwriter at ProSight Specialty Insurance.

The new appointment is a part of MS Reinsurance's ongoing efforts to strengthen its US platform, and follows its recent key hires from PwC, Swiss Re, Axis Re, and Partner Re.
