Navigators poaches Chubb SVP to lead professional lines in US

Specialty insurance holding Navigators Group has hired Chubb's James Rhyner to lead its US professional and management liability business.

In his new role as the president of Navigators Pro, a division of Navigators Management Company, Rhyner will lead the company's US directors and officers (D&O) and errors and omissions (E&O) businesses. Rhyner will be based in Iselin, New Jersey.

Rhyner joins Navigators from Chubb, where he served as senior vice president, professional liability. Prior to Chubb, Rhyner was a partner in Avreco, a professional liability wholesale broker and managing general agent (MGA).

"We are delighted to welcome Jim to Navigators," said Vincent Tizzio, president of US insurance. "He will play a major role in our ongoing effort to build on our status as a trusted partner and to expand our product and service capabilities to continue to differentiate ourselves in the market.

"Jim is a seasoned executive with deep market knowledge, distribution network management experience, product development expertise and extensive broker relationships. I am confident that he has the qualifications to take the business forward profitably."
