NFP acquires US property/casualty broker Thomas Insurance

Specialist insurance broker has acquired the US-based property/casualty (P&C) insurance broker Thomas Insurance Agency of Benton to expand its services in the Southern Midwest.

Based in Benton, Arkansas, the P&C insurance broker provides commercial and personal insurance.

Following the transaction, which closed on February 1, 2017, the principals of the firm James Thomas and Paul Childress will continue in their current roles and become directors within NFP's P&C division.

"James and Paul have a superior track record in providing P&C services to their valued clients," said Terry Scali, CEO of NFP’s P&C division. "We are excited to welcome them to the NFP family, drawing on their years of experience and dedication to building lasting relationships in the previously underserved Southern Midwest market."

"The addition of the Thomas Insurance Agency team complements our objective to expand into Arkansas and further strengthens our unparalleled management team.”

Childress commented: "We are confident that our offerings in the P&C market will amplify through NFP’s wide range of client offerings. We look forward to leveraging the national capabilities that will be extended to our longstanding clients."
