OdysseyRe taps Guy Carpenter/Munich Re talent to lead cyber

Odyssey Reinsurance Company (OdysseyRe) has hired a senior Guy Carpenter executive to lead its cyber line of business in North America.

Christopher Shafer has been appointed vice president and head of North American cyber underwriting at OdysseyRe. He will support the company’s business partners in addressing cyber risk on both a facultative and treaty basis, offering rich product-line expertise in a critical and growing segment.

Shafer joins OdysseyRe following a decade at Guy Carpenter, where he served as vice president and previously held actuarial analyst and treaty broker roles. He began his re/insurance career at Munich Re in 2010.
