Peak Re refuses to comment on Sirius rumours

Hong-Kong-based reinsurer Peak Re has refused to comment on rumours that it is in talks to acquire Sirius Group.

A spokesperson for the reinsurer, which is backed by Chinese investment company Fosun International, said: “Peak Re cannot comment on market speculation so we are unable to confirm such a move."

Sirius Group, a subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group, saw its top line growth as its gross written premiums increased 10 percent to $261 million and net written premiums increased 11 percent to $218 million.
