RenRe taps insider as global head of climate & sustainability strategy

Bermuda-based reinsurer  RenaissanceRe (RenRe) has promoted a longtime executive to the position of senior vice-president, underwriting, and global head of climate and sustainability strategy.

Cathal Carr (pictured) has moved from Bermuda to the company's office in Dublin, Ireland to take up the new position.

Carr has spent 17 years with RenRe, including 13 years in Bermuda.

Most recently, he was RenRe’s SVP of underwriting, global head of property catastrophe. He began his career at the firm in 2005, as a risk analyst in the Dublin office.
