RSA expects 1m new home insurance clients from partnership

RSA expects to add more than one million new home insurance customers to its books through a partnership with Nationwide Building Society.

As a result, RSA will become one of the top three insurers of domestic property in the UK, according to a statement.

RSA and Nationwide have worked together to create a flexible policy that will give Nationwide members the ability to pick and mix their level of cover. Claims handling will also be streamlined, with one in four claims anticipated to be settled within 24 hours.

The partnership has opened for new customers on Dec. 5.

Steve Lewis, CEO RSA UK and International, commented: “This important joint venture is anticipated to represent over £180 million of premium income annually, and further strengthens RSA’s position as a market leader in home insurance.”
